SUMMARY:When Social Connections Change:                                     Understanding Social Changes in Dementia
DESCRIPTION:This workshop explores how cognitive changes affect social understanding and emotional responses. We will cover possible changes in reading facial expressions\, understanding tone of voice\, and interpreting social cues during everyday conversation. Learn how and why the onset and progression of dementia may affect empathy\, motivation\, and emotional control (at times increasing anxiety\, withdrawal\, or argumentative behavior). Attendees will gain practical ways to adapt communication and create supportive social environments during these changes.
